De buitenruimte is de ruimte ingenomen door bv tuinen, koeren, terrassen,... excl de woning op een bepaald bewoond perceel. De berekening gebeurde in volgende stappen: selectie van bewoonde percelen adhv GRB en CRAB adressenbestand de oppervlakte van deze percelen verminderd met de (hoofdgebouw) bebouwing geeft de resterende buitenruimte als resultaat de gemiddelde oppervlakte wordt berekend per type verstedelijkt
